Competitive Cricket

Year 5 & 6

Our Year 5 & 6 team played their round robin games
vs Thorndan on Friday 1st March
We had a great first game together as a team against Thorndan at Ben Burn Park and there were a lot of positive from this game. The game was played in great spirit with a very supportive team approach
Final score KNS 186/5 vs Thorndan 44/9

vs St Teresa's on Monday 4th March
Another great game of cricket against St Teresa's. St Teresa's won the toss and sent us into bat. We scored a competitive 162/5.
St Teresa's went into bat and we had a good team effort in the field and bowling and managed to restrict them to 87/14.

With these 2 results it means that we move through to the next round. We are waiting to hear who our next opponents will be and when this match will take place. I will be in contact with you all again soon naming the team for this and notification of when the game is.

Year 7 & 8

It was a really great day of cricket at Ian Galloway.  We managed to beat Wadestown by about 60 runs in our first game and then lost to St Teresa's (they got the score around 160ish) with 3 balls to spare  so a really close game.

All the boys had the opportunity to bat, bowl and field and they played really well.

Honorable mentions go to Matthew Stitt 63 not out and 60 not out,  64 not out  for Adam Baker, 46 to Tom McKenzie, great bowling from Henry Eyles, great wicket keeping by Leo Yousef and a fantastic all round performance across the whole three games from Oscar Ruegg.

Also a massive thank you to Andrew Stitt who coached the team for their 3 games, Richard Ruegg and Yvette Baker for scoring and the other parents for helping with transport and supporting the team over the 2 games. We really appreciate your time and support.
